This doesn't count as a true review of week 1 of the nhl but since the Canucks have yet to play a game, and I only review weeks on saturdays, in the afternoon, this is basically it. The first ever weekly review. Woo hoo. Nothing to say.
But, hey, the season starts now for the Canucks. It's time to see if their newest additions this off season will come out for them.
Things to note doe.
-Calgary just came off a shaky loss against the Oilers.
-Elliot was completely humiliated by the McDavid blessed Oilers in both games
-Calgary is really sinking. They're on pace to be the next 15-16 Blue Jackets
-The Flames, as well as elliot, are exhausted. They're playing their 3rd game in 3 days or so. Expect fatigue
-Chances are, the Flames will play their back-up goalie. Not only is elliot playing in single A level, his gaa is ridiculous
- The Canucks will win this game, as they're fresh, active, and yet to play a single game.
Prediction: The Canucks are, if they were a baseball team, a slow, slugging team. They can go yard when there is left room to cover, but in 3 on 3, if tons of space to cover and much strategy needed on line changes, expect the older players to unprevail against this young and speedy flames squad.
Miller, himself, is not the best in 3rd period and later. He had a good amount of overtime losses, and has given up many goals in the 3rd period, pushing the Canucks away from winning. Of course, you can't blame him. The defence was terrible last year. Hopefully, the addition of Gudbranson will help out.
And by the way, I will be at the game. This will be the first time for me.
